Review # 1 was written on 2016-05-08 00:00:00 Sheila R Desranleau An interesting if confusing read. The text is laid out in a difficult to follow way. The narrative requires better maps as a lot of reference is made to towns and hamlets not shown on the two maps provided.

Review # 2 was written on 2020-03-06 00:00:00 Malcolm Turner I thought this was a very good introduction to the time. It is a sort of reference book with mini-essays on different topics (education, work, etc.). I would definitely recommend it for someone reading the history or literature of the 18th century who would like to be able to understand the details of daily life that are mentioned in passing.
