Review # 1 was written on 2011-09-21 00:00:00 Christopher Larsen Good painter. Secretive. Pricey. Even better printmaker. His paintings will stand the test of time. |
Review # 2 was written on 2013-11-10 00:00:00 Justin Moe I had the opportunity of viewing an exhibition that displayed works of many of the artists included in this book. These art works are very challenging, as is the philosophical topic of "beauty." Of special interest (to me) is Chapter 4 of this book entitled "Beauty Lost, Beauty Found: One Hundred Years Attitudes" wherein the author contrasts The Art World's (TAW) modern & postmodern nontranscedent worldview with those of the "Neo-Thomists" transcendent views on art & beauty; especially those of French Roman Catholic philosopher Jacques Maritain. |
