Review # 1 was written on 2015-03-17 00:00:00 Chris Kol This year, the Stanislaus County Library system celebrated its 100th birthday. To celebrate, the main branch library had a birthday party on Saturday, April 7th. Since bilingual story time is on Saturday, I decided that both the Spanish and bilingual story times would be balloon/oval-themed (I couldn't do birthdays because I was using birthday stories for this year's Dia celebration). This story isn't in our non-circulating storytelling collection, but I liked it much better than another Spanish-language book about shapes that is in the collection. The pictures in this book are good for story time, and it was fun for the kids to identify the shapes. (For this story time program, I used Edward Fenton's The Big Yellow Balloon for my flannelboard story. It's an older story. I just can't find it on Goodreads to be able to add it.)
