Review # 2 was written on 2013-01-11 00:00:00 Bruce Zikmund I enjoyed the author's view of postmodernism applied to depth psychology. Because of this approach this was a slow read for me, I had to stop and think about a lot of the connections he was making. Some chapters rang more true for me than others though there were gems in each. A lot of the connections made focus on Jungian ideas (that have been categorized as post-modern) and included concepts of spirituality and mythology. It is a relatively small book so the read could be quicker though I would encourage savoring the journey. "Self here becomes a capacity - for holding the ambiguity and flux of actual experience, what Jung called the courage to be oneself." |
