Cinderella by Jess Stockham was a general recap of the originally story of Cinderella. It spoke of a young girl who was mistreated by her step siblings and was forced to enslavement for whatever their needs were. Then came a ball that her step-family talked about for days, and when they left to the party, Cinderella was immediately saddened because she too wanted to go to the ball.. However, just as she was sad, her fairy godmother came for a visit and made all her wishes true. The book had great framework with very good attention to detail and was a very easy read for those who are beginning readers The set up and display was extremely colorful and inviting. The illustrator did a wonderful job at keeping attention through out the entire book. This was built up and set by the framework. This was key for the initial attention grabber, but through the story, the bright colors made a significant contribution to the overall view of the book. For an example, when Cinderella appeared for the first time at the ball, she had a bright white and gold dress while a vivid red floor appeared below her glass slippers. This book is easily read and could very well be read out loud or could be a good read for those who are just becoming readers. The text is very easy with low vocab that a first grader could read very well. "I am your fairy godmother. Don't be sad. Would you like to go to the ball?" This depicts the simplicity that lays with the dialogue and gives a fun and simple understanding of the fluency of the text.

This book was ok for a young child. It had lots of pictures and many fairytale like things in the story. Cinderella was about a girl that was mistreated by her stepmother and stepsisters. The royal family invited the family to a ball in honor of the kings son. Everyone got to go to the ball except her until her fairy godmother performed magic so that she could. Cinderella lost her glass slipper and the prince went trying the slipper on woman's feet until he found who it belonged to.
