Review # 1 was written on 2015-11-04 00:00:00 Adam Pierce What I found most interesting about this book was how it was just an updated edition from... 1999. I was honestly ten years old at that point, goofing off on AOHELL with my cockatiel perched on the monitor. (No, I must interrupt to inform you here: I wasn't "goofing off" per se, I was making many serious business transactions in chatrooms. Also, America Online does not really deserve that nickname. It brings the Internet to so many American citizens.) What I liked so much about this book was how I found it incredibly easy to follow. I don't have a Windows computer available at the current moment, so I did not utilise the CD that came with the book. There were just a few resources one can also access if you have a Macintosh (as I do) or if you have Linux by going to the website. I also enjoyed sitting in reminiscence over the many hours I spent waiting for dial-up Internet to finish making its connection. It took quite a long time, didn't it... (I used that time to do homework, as far as I recall.) |
