Review # 1 was written on 2012-11-30 00:00:00 Daniel Vinet This was a good read that told the story of the Russian Car Industry. I read this book to indulge my younger self and my interest in cars. In typical Haynes style the book contains many pictures showing different cars in varying states of decline. But one thing I did notice was the number of typos or misprints that appear in this book. This typo from Page 240 was my personal favourite; '...including England's 1966 World Cup football hero Booby Charlton!" However, I think four stars is fair for what was an enjoyable read. |
Review # 2 was written on 2013-08-17 00:00:00 Rahel Mischler Got to be a five star book, because it covers a subject impossible to find in such depth. Any one who appreciates cars would find this book facinating. A subject very well covered by Andy Thompson. A great book for the bookshelf of anyone who has been a Lada owner, or was privelaged to own a Skoda before VW homogenised it, turning it into a VW with a badge. For all those who thought it was trendy to import the plastic Trabant, or that a armoured ZIL would make a great wedding car. Cover to cover, a very interesting read. |
