Review # 2 was written on 2013-08-21 00:00:00 Terence Parker I don't read books of poetry because I love poetry in general. In fact, I am indifferent to or dislike most poetry. I read books of poetry because, occasionally, I find poems that are so sublime, that speak to me so clearly, that they make up for everything else. If I find even one of those in a book of poetry, it's a worthwhile read to me, and there were definitely a couple in this one. A lot of it felt a bit pedestrian, but taken as a whole, thematically, this is a very powerful book and a very insightful look at life during and after this time. |
