What a great gift idea for the home handywoman! From the essentials in every toolbox to the straight story about cordless power tools, this little book is a gem of helpful hints for the beginner. How do you know how much wallpaper you'll need to cover a room or go about replacing a cracked and squeaky floorboard? Is tile or stone a good flooring solution and do those strange little cracks in the walls add character to your home or signal real trouble? How many repairs can you safely handle yourself and when is it time to call in the experts? This is an excellent resource for a single woman, trying to handle a few simple construction and decorating projects on her own. An excellent gift idea.

A perfect house warming gift for a single home buyer. Geared toward a single family home, Joanne walks a first-timer through all the components of a house and how to diy decorative aspects like molding, baseboards and painting as well as how to make basic repairs in plumbing and electrical. Lots of step-by step graphics take the anxiety out of these projects. Perfect for someone budget conscious and willing to put in some elbow grease. (Copyright 2007)
