Review # 1 was written on 2014-09-23 00:00:00 Dave Loanghand The book was a real disappointment. What I expected: concrete approaches on how the concept of the Psychological Contract, which is indeed not very tangible, can be applied in the world of work. What I received: a critique of Rousseau's understanding of the Psychological Contract, its difficult tangibility and its lack of applicability. In summary: a book with little surprising statements, few new insights and even fewer practical consequences. For someone who does not yet know the concept of the Psychological Contract, it may be revealing. However, those who have already studied Rousseau's theory will be discouraged - whether from a scientific or practical perspective. |
Review # 2 was written on 2016-09-16 00:00:00 David England I read this book as an additional textbook for my MBA module in Organizational Behaviour, and I am very glad that I did. The concepts are extremely well explained and it provoked me to read further into the topic. The book is very well organized and it helped me to get through the course better. I read it alongside Organizational Behavior and they complemented each other very well. |
