Review # 2 was written on 2018-12-17 00:00:00 Dorothy Lewing I ordered this book because I was asked if a child with cerebral palsy could attend my community yoga class, and I wanted to learn more about working with this special population. The book's main goal is to show how it's possible to tailor a yoga program for children with disabilities to have great benefits. This book has a lot of good information, particularly about children with Down Syndrome, as the author began teaching yoga to help her own daughter who had Downs. I didn't find much that was specific to cerebral palsy and I'll have to do some additional research, but there was definitely information that can be generalized; I feel more confident about working with this child in my class. Overall the book is a good addition to my yoga library. |
