Review # 1 was written on 2020-10-31 00:00:00 Potvin Patrick Good book with strange layout I've read many Osprey Publishing books. This one is organized very differently. All the chapters except the last tell the story on the air war and plane development from the British and Empire side. These barely touched on the aces. This was very interesting. The last chapter or about one-third the book was biographies of the aces. Having them like this made them run together. It would have been nice to have them spread out in the book. |
Review # 2 was written on 2018-04-06 00:00:00 Mary Shafer Excellent history of World War One Aces. This book gives a nice overview of the development of fighter plane and how the airplane moved from an observational tool to a fighting machine. Included are profiles of the top aces and their victories. Easy to read and great for research. |
