Review # 1 was written on 2015-03-25 00:00:00 Nicholas Lombard Jr Although the book may be outdated in some ways (published in 1994 with no subsequent editions), the Appendix with case studies is the most important part of the book. It is apparent that the difficult situations that confront medical professionals, bioethicists, and families present themselves in myriad ways and care should be taken not to give response too quickly. The role of the ethicist in a clinical situation seems to be more than just as a doctor or nurse. He often has to be a family counselor, medical researcher, financial adviser (to suggest ways to make medical treatment affordable), negotiator, any many other roles.

Review # 2 was written on 2017-10-19 00:00:00 Thomas Morlock Glannon provides thorough and well-balanced views on some of the key biomedical ethical issues most pertinent today. The book was comprehensive enough to be used for my Philosophy of Health Care class at the University of Alberta. However, although Glannon touches on most of the necessary points for various issues, the arguments he utilizes are not the strongest ones existing for various philosophical branches.
