Review # 1 was written on 2011-04-06 00:00:00 Trevor Talbott Wild animal babies are celebrated in these attractive, easy-to-read books for beginning readers. Best of all, they illustrate species that are often persecuted and misunderstood, such as, well, wolves. The famously deep family bonds between wolves are depicted, along with upbeat facts about everyday life as a wolf. Included are wonderful images of adult wolves looking after their pups'like people, we learn that wolf parents also seek out babysitters! Countless traditional children's tales depict wolves as evil villains, so it is always a relief when a more positive image is shown. Perhaps a new generation will learn to see these animals as something more than the beast of fairy tales. (The fact that wolves have no natural enemies is stated, but human persecution of wolves is not mentioned within the text.) |
Review # 2 was written on 2017-06-02 00:00:00 Sandra Small Totally amazing. Every page is a work of genius in paper engineering. As well as the main large pop-up dinosaur and information, each page has little booklets with more details and small pop-up images. |
