Review # 1 was written on 2012-01-05 00:00:00 Sharon Liccardo I blame Janelle Taylor and her execrable writing in Defiant Ecstasy for harshing my LULZY Cassie Edwards buzz. I listened to most of this one thinking that I really need to take a break from the Indian romances. Reading and listening to them concurrently was overdoing it a bit. Anyway....this one probably would still have been nothing special, even without the bad Janelle juju. Only 3 things stood out: 1) The heroine's name: Marjorie. Any Fry & Laurie fans? I can't see or hear the name without thinking of these two guys: 2) The heroine's evil stepdad skinning a fox alive because it killed some chickens. Didn't need that description, thankyouverymuch. The book pretty much lost me from that moment on because I couldn't stop thinking about it. No animal torture in my romances, kthxbai. 3) The heroine's pubic hair described as a "puff of smoke that beckoned." First time I've heard that one! |
Review # 2 was written on 2013-07-22 00:00:00 Bobby W Baker After years of reading witty and gripping romances by Jo Beverly, Julia Quinn, and Johanna Lindsey, to name a few, the writing in this book was less than enjoyable. I did appreciate the details on native American culture, but the book was simply tedious. I only finished it because I have the annoying habit of always finish a book once I start. |
