(More pictures at parkablogs.com) Watercolor Secrets is an extension of the Splash series of art books. It's the making-of book that showcases the various techniques of various Splash artists. The book's a hardcover spiral bound with 144 pages. The beautiful cover art is from Fealing Lin. The techniques featured are accompanied by step-by-step photos of paintings in different stages of completion, from start to finish. I always find myself wondering how those beautiful paintings are created. Well, this book is the answer. Each step is accompanied by detailed artist commentary. They are really generous with sharing ideas. Besides the demonstrations, there are a few other pieces of stunning work included in each artist's gallery. The short artist biographies are nice and there are interesting photos of their workspace. This is an inspiring and insightful book. Recommended to intermediate and advanced watercolour artists. Beginners can also get the book to see the wonderful versatility of watercolour as a medium.

So many people asked to know when the book "Watercolor Secrets" [for which I was 1 of 15 selected out of about 800 artists (all of whom had been included in the first 10 volumes of "Splash: the best of watercolor")] was out. It is! And if you follow the link below, you get an inside view of the first few pages of it, most of which happen to be mine! As you know, it was a lot of hard work, not just on my part but also by Vicki Madsen, who took all those photos and about 1000 more. And, as you can imagine, I'm way more excited than any Swede should ever get. I also want to thank everyone who has asked about this and given so much support. Thanks so much. Denise says to "get back in the studio and make stuff." This book is a fabulous learning tool. You will find each and every one of the demos very exciting.
