Review # 1 was written on 2013-01-06 00:00:00 Elizabeth Fey Third volume of the yaoi romance series following the love of Prince Christian and his knight bodyguard Zeke. The main characters are good, but I found it increasingly hard to keep track of the supporting cast. Set against a back drop of political intrigue and constant double-crossing and weaving back and forth between flashbacks pertaining to various characters the story is quite hard to follow and frankly not interesting enough to make me care that much. There is also no humour to this which makes it a bit dull. This particular volume wasn't very sexy or romantic either - our protagonists are bogged down with angst and the story is bogged down with politics. Artwork is pretty average. There is apparently a 4th volume, but I can't seem to track it down and this volume didn't inspire me to be too disappointed about that. Black Knight is an OK series and those out there that like epic historically set yaoi will probably enjoy it, but its not one of my favourites.

Review # 2 was written on 2017-10-30 00:00:00 Julius Brown The plot is finally getting somewhere, there's less confusion, but it's still not a cohesive journey. It's somewhat difficult to get inside the thought process of some of the characters, and what their actions really want to convey (or what the big plan really is, in layman's terms). Seeing as the fourth volume is hard to get a hold of, I'm not too saddened by not being able to read it (thought it may have been nice to see some of the loose ends tied together).
