Paul's book is incredible. The first half, very academic, yet much like the great pamphleteers of the revolution and before, who marshaled the lessons of history and rediscovered forgotten works to defend a thesis core to our "American experiment." The last half of the book is activist in tone, and worth considering the careful critiques of the constitution, the mixture of intentions of the founding fellas, and the way we seem to have forgotten our role as citizens. All of this is deftly connected to the central role of education in either maintaining the status quo or challenging it. One of the best books I have read in the past five years.

Fantastic. Amazing. I've read it over and over again. It should be on the currently reading shelf at all times.
