Review # 1 was written on 2019-07-23 00:00:00 Eric Thayer A very helpful primer on wedding planning, though a little out of date in its suggestions (wedding websites are touched upon but not talked about in detail, though more modern advice books/articles/etc. talk about them at length). Also a tad old-fashioned and gendered in suggestions for the bridesmaids vs. groomsmen (maybe the girls would rather receive baseball tickets as bridesmaid gifts and the guys want to do yoga the morning of the wedding). I think the gift and event portions aimed at the bridal party should have been aimed at the party as a whole, not split by whose attendant you are. Overall, though, a pretty helpful book that stepped through a lot of the things you should know. It gave a good overview of everything and went into some of the higher-level details to get you started and has a helpful list of dos and don'ts that you ought to abide by. The particular copy I was reading is from 2005. I wonder if there's a more recent revision that might have some more modern advice in these changing times?

Review # 2 was written on 2021-01-16 00:00:00 Mario Espinoza This book was a great overview for planning a wedding without making any big mistakes. It goes into more detail than I think was necessary in some places (invitations) and not enough in others (venues), but that might just be my own bias from which parts I know more about. The recommendations are sometimes outdated due to its 2005 publishing date but the most important information (prioritize, track expenses, figure out and stick to your style) is timeless. Useful, but maybe not must-read, for anyone planning a wedding!
