Review # 1 was written on 2015-10-09 00:00:00 Kevin Stark I cannot understand why this book is not required reading for parents. Well, maybe I can understand that parents do not think about the long term consequences of the everyday, small, even trivial child rearing decisions they make. However, these incidental learning moments make up our children's personalities, expectations, and view of the world. Kudos to Catherine Sanderson for having the courage to write a book about problems of short-term fixes proposed so often by popular child rearing "experts" who, in my humble opinion, frequently give "parent pleasing" advice rather than sound child-centered advice.

Review # 2 was written on 2016-02-21 00:00:00 Ibrar Hussain The author, a grandpa, visits several academic situations where the teachers aspire to jump start success via education from pregnancy through pre-school for pushy parents. The book is humorous throughout, often surreal, and quite scary too as parents project their hopes and fears onto their kids.
