Review # 1 was written on 2017-10-25 00:00:00 Susann Sagvand Good introduction to World War I. I was curious about WWI after reading a book by Ken Follett called Fall of Giants. However, there are a ton of books about the subject and it's hard to know where to start. I've learned that often when you have a topic with a lot written about it, a good introduction is a kid's book. It touched on the horrors of war, of the trenches, being buried in mud, blood and bodies, etc. It was strange to read about for me because the war ended in June of 1919 while my 98 year old grandmother was born in January of 1919. Interesting to imagine the way the world was when she was born. I recommend this book for an introduction to WWI, decent start on the subject. |
