As a podiatry student I found the format of this book very useful. There are 10 sections focusing on important subsets of practice, including paediatrics, dermatology, rheumatology, and trauma. Each section includes a series of case studies that gives a practical approach to the treatment of common foot disorders (65 in total). There is also a series of multiple choice questions at the end. I found it useful that an image and series of questions relating to the image are presented on the page before the actual explanation of the condition (diagnosis and treatment), this format challenged me to really engage with my current understanding and knowledge, giving me a better awareness of the gaps in my knowledge. I find that whilst reading other texts that simply detail diagnosis and management of conditions, I might feel like I already know the material and therefore don't always gain everything from what I'm reading. The key points at the end of each case are also very useful. While the descriptions of the cases are brief, the authors have left a list of relevant reading so that any revealed gaps in understanding can be further explored by the reader.

I wish I'd found this book when I first started suffering. He didn't tell me a whole lot I didn't already know, but it would have been nice to have it all in one place at the outset. I was a little dissapointed at the exclusion of acupuncture and other alternative medicines in Medical Procedures appendix.
