Review # 1 was written on 2012-04-30 00:00:00 Zane Robb Home Improvement for Dummies commits a grave error on the cover of the book. It misrepresents the number of books within its pages. Although it says it has eight books, it only has six books, according to the table of contents. However, that is merely splitting hairs and has nothing to do with the actual content of the book. The other thing to keep in mind with this book is that it is old. As of this review, it is sixteen years old. Therefore, it has some anachronisms that no longer fit with modern times. It talks about finding contractors via the Yellow Pages, for example. Other than those drawbacks, this book contains tons of practical information. It stresses the idea of safety. The pictures included are illuminating and aid in understanding. Finally, it tells you when to know that you are over your head. Some home repairs require skills that you do not have. It is best to accept professional help in these cases.

Review # 2 was written on 2011-06-18 00:00:00 Mikki Williams I love the "dummies" books, very clear information about anything and everything. I will never finish reading this book but will use it again and again. Currently, we are using the "bathroom remodel" section!
