Review # 1 was written on 2021-04-09 00:00:00 Arnaud Perucca This is the excellent standard history of this subject. It is worthwhile and a corrective to all the mythology that surrounds the militia in the USA.

Review # 2 was written on 2012-04-09 00:00:00 Denise Huete This is my favorite of several airship books I have. I like the writer's slightly dramatic style, and the in-depth analysis of the history of the airship. The book is punctuated by many enjoyable excerpts from first sources (e.g. the writings of Hugo Eckener, among many others with first hand knowledge and experience in airship travel). This is my recommendation for the first book anyone should read, if they had an interest in airship history. This one is hard to put down.
