Review # 1 was written on 2017-06-01 00:00:00 Bob Baron I had higher expectations for the book. To me, not enough focus was given to the actual fighting and subsequent Bataan Death March. Too much focus was given to MacArthur's relationships with leaders and fellow officers. I understand there is a need to explain the people and the politics involved but the author sacrificed too much of the actual fighting as a result. While there are a few maps they don't cover every part of Luzon. Most notably, the text mentions fighting at places in the northern part of Luzon but there are no maps showing where they are |
Review # 2 was written on 2020-09-28 00:00:00 Rick Mann clashing egos, willful ignorance and stupidity led to the complete collapse of the defense of the Philippines. |
