Review # 1 was written on 2008-05-29 00:00:00 Colin Mckay Given that I read this book purely for research purposes, I found myself entranced in the Blackfoot way of life, their adventures and their trials. I chose this book to know what kind of people they were, to understand how they saw their lives and the world around them and J.W. Schultz did a fantastic job in capturing those moments for his Blackfoot kin. I have come to love their fearless way of life and it had spurred in me a love of freedom and adventure. |
Review # 2 was written on 2012-02-24 00:00:00 Rick Tarnutzer A collection of short stories and writings about the Blackfeet as seen through the eyes of a (white) man that was adopted by the tribe. All good stories, I really enjoyed reading about Northern Montana and especially Glacier before it became a national park, and the lives of the indigenous peoples as they lived on the land. Grinnell gets the credit for Glacier becoming a park, it was Jim Schultz who hauled him around the park. |
