Review # 1 was written on 2019-02-18 00:00:00 John Distaulo, Jr. So sad that the only essays in here were about dysfunctional mother/daughter relationships...I think it would have been encouraging to have a few essays about how a mother didn't destroy her daughter, just for those of us who are thinking about becoming mothers someday... However, I understand that this collection was meant to counteract the myth that mothers are these amazing angels that change your life dramatically for the better and that the only people who suffer are those who don't have mothers at home. And there is so much to be learned from dysfunctional relationships, even if your relationship with your mother was perfect. |
Review # 2 was written on 2017-06-10 00:00:00 Paul Viapiana This book is hardcore. Like don't read this unless you are really working on untangling a mother knot because damn. This shit is heck of raw. |
