Another book I couldn't put down. Canada and Chinese food. This was a compelling review of life.

Janice Wong has cleverly woven her family story with family recipes. Given that her father came from the same area of China as my own many of the Asian recipes were of familiar dishes and ones that are not typically found in Chinese cookbooks. Yummy Tomato Beef and Crab in Black Bean Sauce were especially appreciated. This is a very personal book full of pictures, letters and handwritten notes from her father. It really touched me and is a book I will treasure.
