I am also left wondering how he had so much time for botany when he was the doctor to the royal family as well as running other medical programs. Since I am a botanist in Hawaii it was especially fun to read the names of native species that were of particular interest to Hilldebrand and especially painful to read the names of species that he was responsible for introducing to Hawaii! Yikes! African Tulip Tree? Really? ;) |
