Review # 1 was written on 2012-11-03 00:00:00 John Hurt Having worked & volunteered for an animal shelter, I had difficulty with the author (and pastor) differentiating between the two cats he & his wife brought indoors and the "outdoor" cats. Tiffany & Taffy were spayed after they came indoors, but not the outside cats, who seemed to keep producing more & more kittens! And later in the book, an outdoor kitten who became a neighborhood favorite was injured, yet they only placed it in a box in the basement until they decided it needed to see a vet. Because of the expense, they only had the vet give it pain meds. and it ultimately died. If everyone loved it so much, why didn't they band together to help it??? I know not everyone is as informed as most shelter volunteers, but this pastor's attitude toward the cats bothered me at times and I had trouble finishing the book. In fact, I skimmed over a good part of it. |
