If your kid has never played the Oregon Trail, or even if you're an adult who studied it in school or played the game, this book still gives new information about the trials and tribulations faced. It talks about Independence being the big stop in the Midwest, talks about the trappers and scouts as your guides, the different types of diseases, dust storms, various native American tribes and how that worked, the reality of those who actually made it to Oregon, etc.
