A must read for everyone, not because you lack manners but it teaches the value of not giving everybody around you a hard time. It teaches the value of respect and compassion for the people around you.

This is a very different book, compared to the other books that I have read. This book is very informative on manners, especially family manners. I learned and gained a lot of knowledge regarding family manners after reading this book. Frankly, I was always a firm believer of basic manners and politeness within a family and it was not necessary to go beyond that. Reading this book changed my thoughts and opinions. For instance, according to the book,we should write thank you notes to family members or relatives that did us a favor. This is best done by hand, as that more reveals your sincere towards the receiver. Additionally, sometimes it probably best to not question or give your parents more stress if they are planning a divorce. Although we might be strongly affected, there are under a lot more pressure. Its best for us to help them with their burdens, not add more to it. There are certain aspects that I strongly agree with, such as letting your parents know where you are, communicating with your parents nicely. This mostly applies to teens. As a teen myself, I understand how "annoying" our parents can be, but we need to understand that they are getting use to our growth as well and we shouldn't be like typical teenagers at home. For instance, we shouldn't roll our eyes, talk back, slam the doors, etc. This book strengthened and changed my thoughts regarding manners and I truly understand the essence of family manners after reading this book.
