Monica Hughes did a great job with this kids book. The part about tigers being killed for their fur opened the door for us to discuss just how selfish humans are and how they won't be satisfied until they have settled every square inch of the globe! It was also a discussion opener as to why we need to leave some blue up above and some green on the ground. Just like one of our favorite songs...It's only ours to borrow. Let's save some for tomorrow...leave it and pass it on down.

This is a nonfiction easy reader. It is a good intro to tigers for kids that are fascinated by the animal. Reading this to my 7yo sparked conversation about endangered species, what makes an animal a mammal, where Aisa is in reference to our home, and how she was glad that I didn't clean her with my tongue when she was a baby. ;)
