Review # 1 was written on 2017-01-15 00:00:00 Ricky Shelton This low key memoir is revealing in several aspects. One, it shows how a South African born rich Jewish boy identified with his root and culture. Second, it brings the readers to the makeshift days of IAF's infancy and, sometimes, wonders how Israel survived the War of Independence with a ragged bunch of civilian aircraft and a motley group of volunteer pilots. When the author recalls how he prevented an amphibian raid by three Egyptian vessels on Tel Aviv with bomb-tossing civilian light airplanes, I could only say: "Wow!" |
Review # 2 was written on 2020-04-25 00:00:00 Rahul Gumare Wonderful memoir of one man fighting in the new Israeli air force and trying to save the newly born country. Great picture of the miraculous survival of the new country. Highly recommended. |
