Excellent book for those dealing with the loss of a child. It becomes like a well worn friend you can always turn to.

I glanced briefly at this. I'm not ready for it now, but I'd like to come back to it again in a few months. the angels have no wings they come to you wearing their own clothes they have learned to love you and will keep coming unless you insist on wings. -Lucille Clifton I found this passage encouraging: Monica Jones: "After her death I reckoned that if she could keep smiling, so could I even though it wasn't always easy in the beginning. I realized that many parents had lost children during much more difficult times, such as wars or natural disasters. With time I knew and could tell others with assurance that a parent such as myself can not only survive the death of a child, but can also continue to live each day to the fullest with the awareness that one's life has been immeasurably enriched by having had this child, even if the child did not live to adulthood." And I like the sincerity of this one: Susan Gilbert: "The major difference now is that I consider myself a human being rather than a "human doing." Or, at least I try to do so. I fail often and find myself tongue-tied sometimes at social events when someone asks what I do. When I am feeling strong I like to smile enigmatically and say something arch like "whatever I want." But that is not always true. I simply do the best I can to capture some meaning and happiness in each day."
