Review # 1 was written on 2011-05-10 00:00:00 Marilyn Shiba This is one of my top 5 gluten-free cookbooks. Jennifer Katzinger runs the Flying Apron bakery in Freemont down in Seattle, a great little place. I've been there once and, at the risk of sounding a little sacrilegious, it was a bit like a pilgrimage to Mecca for me. This book has the absolute best gluten-free chocolate cake recipe I have ever eaten. She also has recipes for yeast bread, pizza, cupcakes, and the greatest coconut macaroons ever. This book has wonderful photographs and usually one recipe per page. This is set up for a real cook who has the book open on the counter where it gets splashed by dough and flour. This is a cookbook that is meant to lie open on the kitchen island, and mine spends a lot of time there.

Review # 2 was written on 2013-03-06 00:00:00 Jason Campbell I've baked two recipes from this book. The berry muffins turned out pretty good...garbanzo bean flour is very interesting and the taste really grows on me. The first muffin, I kind of liked but as I kept eating them, I started to really like them. After baking several other gluten-free and vegan muffin recipes from various websites, these were great compared to the others. The bread I made (the house bread - can't remember the name now) tasted OK but it did not rise and was rather short and did not look like the picture at all! Must try the chocolate cake that someone else mentioned in a review. Am willing to try a few more recipes to see what turns out.
