This book would be great fun for teaching young Seattle kids and visitors the ABC's around the city. The boy Pete and his puppy Larry walk around Seattle to see what letters they can find in the neighborhood landmarks. "C is for coffee, found on every corner." "I is for interstate 5, Seattle's biggest road." The illustrations are bold, bright and charmingly retro. They would be bold and noticeable for younger readers, as well as have enough small details for more fun observations in the illustrations for older kids. Often the images of Pete and Larry are small silhouettes, but they can be spotted riding the monorail and climbing Queen Anne Hill. This book is a fun local twist on the old standard ABC book and can be enjoyed by kids and adults alike.

This book is all about Seattle! Never been there but feel like I know all of the main attractions after reading this book. Children will go through their ABC's and learn about a corresponding Seattle attraction associated with each letter. The book is retro, colorful, and a wonderful addition to your collection of books about the many cities in our United States...while also learning their ABC's! Win, win, highly recommend!
