Review # 1 was written on 2009-05-19 00:00:00 Todd Larson This book has great info about hikes in the NYC area, including hikes that are accessible by public transportation! However, having taken this on a couple of hikes now, I find that it can be very hard to follow the directions...you're better off to use this as a suggestion about where to go/how to get there, then grab a trail map to use on the trail itself.

Review # 2 was written on 2013-01-12 00:00:00 Todd Mccallum I have several books on the Tahoe Rim Trail, the PCT, and hikes on the California side of Tahoe, but nothing for the Reno area. This book is exactly what I wanted. It starts off with a very nice introduction to the area, explaining the formation of the mountains and plains, as well as a discussion of the rivers and lakes. The book has a good number of both well-known and lesser-known places, and gives a nice summary of all of them. Looking forward to new adventures!
