Review # 1 was written on 2016-12-27 00:00:00 Bill Boden One of the best books on acting and life. It draws deep into why we behave in a certain way in certain situations. How can we replicate behaviour which we want from the core of our being and not come across as a caricature. I read this book around 3 years back, I was able to grasp the meaning at first but execution was difficult. But now I'm more aware of the mechanics of my own emotions and thoughts, now I'm certainly finding the information more useful. |
Review # 2 was written on 2007-12-14 00:00:00 Simon Cain I read the book after taking a class based on the technique, which class I enjoyed a lot. It's a very down to earth, no frills take on acting, based on practical introspection and self-observation without navel gazing. The premise is that you need to know your own psychological and physical limitations and then work on them in order to become an efficient actor. Obviously, this approach is useful beyond stage acting. |
