While some things can be quite depressing they can be there to teach us want we should know. This book explores doctors viewpoints on euthanasia and asks us to question what types of decisions we would be making about liberal ideas of euthanasia like Oregon or an adherence to a very strict code of doctors staying out of the euthanasia business because of the dilemma it would be for their core work: life. And there we are right in the middle. What do we want and at what stage? What kind of chances should docs make to relieve pain that could and would most probably cause death. (With the new (harsher) drug and pain prescription laws on the scene I think we may be dying through the era of pain. Seems to me the government goes back and forth about pain medication: is it more important to restrict it and keep it out of the wrong hands or have a liberal viewpoint and let it be used too liberally in cases where pain is extensive and life is short. {Give me the liberal way and good meds.} Then there's always the dilemmas where no choice is good..."But just wait...her daughter will be here in a week. Interesting to know. I think a week of pain is a long time while a week of travel may not be so bad.
