It encourages you to dig into the truths of scripture and discover the meaning and God's purpose behind the words, rather than relying on someone else to give you their interpretation and 'take' on it. I have a much greater understanding of how scripture applies to my life. In this particular study, I had a few, important "aha" revelations for my faith walk. Particularly that righteousness and godliness is something that must be pursued. It doesn't come naturally or through some prayerful automatic pilot. I must work on it and actively pursue it. There were a few others, but following the lead of Kay Arthur and her co-authors, it is better to let you discover those for yourself. Be aware this is not a passive study. Read the "How To Get Started" chapter and take it to heart. It may seem unusual to mark your Bible with colors and special markings, but just try it. Get a composition notebook to accompany this book and dive in.
