Review # 1 was written on 2016-04-09 00:00:00 Jake Bellows Some great projects are shown, but as a book it lacks direction and depth. The cover design and strap line 'creating cutting-edge work for less' suggest it might be a how-to for students: it is not. The blurb offers 'an in-depth look': the book is annoyingly shallow in its coverage of too many projects in too little detail. But, it has 'essays', there *must* be depth! Well the essays are ~750-1000 words and don't go much further than general advice or brief statements. It's not that the advice is bad, nor that the projects shown are bad, it just doesn't sit together well. Despite having read it all, I can't see what you'd want to *do* with this book, other than flick through and look at the pretty pictures. |
