Review # 1 was written on 2020-04-20 00:00:00 Jeremy Naidus The other reviewer here seems to have covered many of the good points about this book while claiming them to be detriments! Percival has studied widely in philosophy and metaphysics, especially Swedenborg, Boehme, Neo-Platonism, alchemy and is able to draw out some of the ruling ideas in Blake's writings. He also shines light on the subtle psychology depicted there, points about male-female, inner-outer relations before and after the fall into Generation. Side note: Henry Miller listed it as one of the very influential books for him. And Kathleen Raine described it as one of the best studies of Blake. Find the pdf online. The hardcopy is currently very expensive. |
