Genre: Non-Fiction Awards: N/A Summary: This is an informational book about multiple kinds of animals. The book first starts with a question for each animal and then responds to the question with a answer. Some of the animals that are discussed is the zebra, flamingo, panda, polar bear, tiger, and many more. Prompt Questions: What is your favorite animal? Would a panda be an herbivore or a carnivore? What do you think animals have stripes? How can stripes help these animals survive? Name one animal that was discussed in the book? (after the book has been read) Critique: This book is a very simple book that covers vague information about certain animals. Some facts are useful, whereas, others are useless. I would only recommend this book to be an independent reading book because of the lack of useful information it provides. Activity: Compare and Contrast Venn Diagram - The students will draw two intersecting circles and label each side the animal of their choice based on the reading. In the center they are to state how the two animals are alike. On the sides, they are to list any information about the animals.
