Review # 1 was written on 2008-12-26 00:00:00 ktqxqtcy catuiile This Eyewitness book by Dorling-Kindersly wasn't what I expected, when I requested that it be delivered from Wadleigh Memorial Library to my local public library. I was hoping for something that would teach me color theory. The unexpected was still wonderful, however, since it was written in association with the National Gallery of Art. It was about how artists through the ages used color, light, and different media to create their art. I disagree with the Wadleigh Library's decision to place this book in the Children's Room. Its vocabulary, as well as the works it discusses, would go well over the head of most 6th grade and under children. However, it is a feast for the eyes and ears of anyone high school aged or up. If you're at all interested in art, I strongly recommend this book. At 61 pages, it's not a huge investment in time for the amount you'll learn! |
Review # 2 was written on 2017-07-07 00:00:00 Steve Atkinson I love the Eyewitness collection of books. I love when Ian chooses them from the library because I know I will have fun reading them too! The pictures and explanations are great. |
