Review # 1 was written on 2010-05-05 00:00:00 Joseph Morris I was extremely disappointed in this book. It is very repetitive especially for a very small book. I didn't get the impression that the author is very knowledgeable about diabetes. I think she was just trying to get by writing about what she knows about nutrition and and then throwing in a few quick comments. I felt like her suggestions are totally at odds with what my two doctors have told me to do so far and what I had read in other books....and what is working for me based on my blood sugar readings. A lot of the book kept mentioning cakes, cereals, bagels, etc. I am sure I will slip up and have some of those items sometimes but I wish the book focused more on what I should be eating not items like these that don't seem to have much place in a diabetic's diet.

Review # 2 was written on 2013-04-19 00:00:00 Richard Prince This was a good book for some general nutritional information. A lot of the information becomes repetitive. I feel that chapter 4 was the most informational section of the entire book, yes the chapter is very common sense oriented but there are some good points, especially for people that have no clue about general nutrition. I feel that the title is very misleading for it makes you think that this is a book with lists of foods to eat and foods to stay away from/eat in moderation to live a better life with diabetes but that isn't the case. It is general food and nutrition information with hardly a diabetic focus. There are recipes included in the book but I didn't find many to be appealing. If you are interested in reading this book I suggest borrowing it from your library and skim through the parts that are of particular interest to you.
