Review # 2 was written on 2016-01-17 00:00:00 Matt Trace The Genius of Huey P. Newton is one of my favorite books i have read. It's a book about a man who works together with the negro community to fight against police brutality by white police officers and his desire to create a community of negro men and women who are willing to stand against the court and act out against inequality. His plan to make it legal for black men to possess a firearm and have the right to protect life and liberty is put to test when he realizes that not only are the police against him, but the state in which he lives in is against his will to fight for freedom for his people. This book is a lesson ready to be learned, an experience that takes you in depth of the lives of the people closest to Huey, and how Huey proceeds without being stopped to spread happiness and equality within his community.
