Review # 2 was written on 2018-05-11 00:00:00 George Reid Say Please by Virginia Austin is a great book for introducing children to the importance of saying please and thank you. It has a very clear intention and would be very useful. The book itself is centred around a young boy going about his every day life. It makes great use of wild life to show how important it is to say please and thank you, something I think would really appeal to younger children. It also shows great creativity on the part of the author as the animals speak to the child and teach him to use his manners The illustrations in the book help to involve the children as they can tell their own story using the picures, as well as this, they are uncomplicated and help children understand the message of the book. I would recommend this book for EYFS and KS1 children as it is quite a simple book and can be easily understood, as well as this, it helps to set a good foundation for children when it comes to developing their interpersonal skills and of course their manners. |
