Mommy says: Great story about a little girl who can't fall asleep and has a million ways of not having to close her eyes. But her wise (and slightly exasperated Dad) finally outsmarts her.

I loved this book! Not at all what I was expecting! Love it so much I want to purchase it! Great for practicing counting up to 12 and I like the "I Spy" aspect of it also in the back. Another awesome bit about this book is the many things it teaches along the way. For example, how many seasons there are in a year and what they're called, the seven colors of the rainbow (includes indigo), the eight reindeer and their names (minus Rudolph), the nine planets (still consider Pluto a planet), the numbers on the phone (0-9), and the 12 months of the year. My son and I covered topics such as remembering the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, the seasons and their weather, the names of our fingers (little finger, ring finger, middle finger, index finger, and thumb), the color often forgotten about, indigo (bluish-purple), Christmas time and the reindeer, how Mercury is the hottest planet because it's closest to the sun, and pluto's the coldest because it's the farthest. My son ultimately doesn't want to live on either. Also calling 9-1-1 in an emergency, and covered the 12 months. Quizzed him on what month he thought he was born in based on pics (born in Oct and a pumpkin for the pic) but he hasn't quiet grasped that yet.
