"The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ, who has been sent from God to guide and empower us. The Holy Spirit is the risen Christ living within us. He is the key to our supernatural adventure with God as a way of life. (Bill Bright, The Holy Spirit: The Key to Supernatural Living, Page 16) Well thought-out book on the Holy Spirit. You can tell this author is not a novice on the Holy Spirit, but a firm student on the study of the Bible and the person of the Holy Spirit. You can tell he does not speak like a Pentecostal. He talks more like Baptist, but a Baptist who believes in the Holy Spirit, the power of God and the gifts of the Spirit. He does not reject any gifts and miracles in the Bible, but is thoughtful of these things in this book. He emphasizes that Christians should not get hung up on spiritual gifts, but that we should be hung up on God using us in any different circumstances. I wasn't in total agreement with this as I thought to myself, what if people understood their gifts and also were willing to be used by God. Where is the power in being ignorant of your spiritual gifts?...I agree we can go overboard and become like the Corinthian church in the Bible who exhibited all the spiritual gifts, but were carnal and Paul the Apostle had to rebuke them. Therefore, I agree, that just because one operates in the gifts of the Spirit does not mean you are spiritually mature. Well balanced book on the person of the Holy Spirit.
